Construction on our mockup bot has been the main topic of our meetings and build days for the last few weeks. We have been testing the old circuitry and verifying everything is working properly. As shown on the oscilloscope and real test verification. Last night we started construction on the bearing blocks that will hold the wheels up. We haven’t been able to get access to the metal machine shop yet so we had to settle with the next best thing and make the blocks temporarily out of oak until we can make proper bearing blocks out of aluminum. Assembly will take place next week during the last half of our Wednesday meeting and Thursday lab day.

Some progress has been made on our main weapon motor. We are planning on using a washing machine motor assembly. The coil resistance is around 30ohms were we hoped it to be roughly 1ohm, so we will have to rewind all 48 poles before we will be able to use it. With just a quick test we were able to get the motor to twitch slightly at 11.2v. Doubling the voltage we hope to get it to slowly turn at 22.4 volts.

That’s all until next week.
